Loyal Lions donate towards new community walking trail

Lion Ed Stumpner presented Curtiss Lindner a check for $5,000 toward the new Loyal Walking Path project. Lindner, who proposed and is heading up the project noted that, “Loyal Wisconsin is a community that is growing with new business and new families coming in every year. This is an exciting time to live in this closeknit community. As a member of the community, I feel a responsibility to give back and help the citizens and their families have opportunities to recreate and enjoy this beautiful city.”
Lindner further commented, “A Community Walking trail is a great way to keep people active within the community and interactive with community members. Walking trails also have the additional benefits of being a wonderful way to improve mental and physical health. This past year has been hard for many people. With mental health related issues on the rise, this could be another safe outdoor activity for people of all ages and abilities to be able to get outdoors and be social while keeping safe distance.”
The Loyal city council approved the measure to develop and promote a new community walking trail in the city in February 2021 Lindner was tasked with mapping out a safe, affordable location to construct a trail as well as exploring all avenues of funding it. According to Lindner, this was not a new idea, having been proposed by other citizens such as Lions Chris Lindner and Dave Williams in years past. Phase 1 of the project will begin with this initial investment made possible by the Loyal Lions Club and thanks to the generous support of all the citizens who contribute to the club’s fund-raising efforts. 100% of all profits made by the Lions goes directly back to the community in the form of civic projects and donations as well as supporting other Lions causes at the state and international levels.
The Loyal Lions club will be posting maps of the proposed walking path for the public to view at its website: www.loyallionsclub.com.
