Rozar supports Dobbs ruling
69th District State Rep. Donna Rozar (R, Marshfield) released the following statement this week: “Today the U. S. Supreme Court made the decision to overturn the 1973 Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey decision through their ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson.
“Along with other pro-life advocates who have worked diligently for this outcome over the past 49 years, I applaud the six justices of the U. S. Supreme Court who courageously took this step to protect the life of pre-born children. It is right that this decision is being returned to the states.
“With this reversal in legal precedent, I am calling on WI Attorney General Kaul and district attorneys across the state to enforce Wisconsin’s pre-Roe statute 940.04. Any failure to enforce a statute should be met with severe scrutiny.
“Science has advanced over the past almost 50 years that show the uniqueness and distinctiveness of the pre-born child. With ultrasound technology as well as DNA advances, the personhood of the pre-born child cannot be disputed, and that personhood needs to be protected. Ending the life of the pre-born child through abortion in 2022 should be unthinkable and not even an option. We need to return to a culture where life is respected, from conception to natural death.”
Rozar said she supports investments in crisis pregnancy centers and efforts to support those who find themselves in an unplanned pregnancy. “Children are the future of our great state and country. Investments in their future is also an investment in all municipalities,” she said.
