Loyal track and field teams compete at Cadott meet

The Loyal girls track and field team took second at their most recent meet held in Cadott on May 13. The team faced some tough competition at the DeJung Invitational, but were able to score enough points to secure their runner-up status at the meet.

Relay teams for the Greyhound girls were the only areas where the team was able to place first in events, while the rest of the individual finishes placed elsewhere in the top eight. The 4x100m relay team of Leah Scherer, Sheila Tellock, Alyssia Zvolena and Aubre Robida won their race with a time of 52.13. Also taking first was the 4x400m relay team of Abrial Kubista, Noelle Teschner, Lisa Steffens and Sheila Tellock, which ran a 4:25.92 for their placing. Finishing in second place was the 4x200m relay team (1:52.27) of Molly Zvolena, Sheila Tellock, Lisa Steffens and Leah Scherer.

Individual results for the Loyal girls are as follows: Alyssia Zvolena, 2nd, high jump, 5’; Haven Peroshek, 2nd, shot put, 31’9.5”, 3rd, discus, 93’10”; Sheila Tellock, 2nd, pole vault, 9’6”; Aubre Robida, 3rd, 100m dash, 13.55, 4th, 200m dash, 28.11; Abrial Kubista, 3rd, triple jump, 34’1”, 6th, 300m hurdles, 55.17; Carlotta Sartorazzi, 4th, pole vault, 8’; Olivia Nikolai, 5th, pole vault, 7’6”; Leah Scherer, 5th, 200m dash, 28.13; Shalisha Buchanan, 5th, shot put, 29’11.5”; Hannah Smith, 6th, discus, 85’1”, 8th, shot put, 27’10”; Emma Clausen Skjong, 6th, 100m hurdles, 19.08; Noelle Teschner, 7th, 400m dash, 1:11.05; Maci Bogdonovich, 7th, 800m run, 2:51.14; Lisa Steffens, 8th, 200m dash, 28.92; Alexis Meyer, 8th, high jump, 4’8”.

For the Loyal boys, two individuals placed in the top eight to score for the team. Connor Genteman took second in the 1600m run with a time of 4:53.23 and third in the 800m run with his time of 2:10.11. Parker Smith placed in the triple jump, leaping 33’7.5” to take seventh.
