All the local track and ….

All the local track and field teams competed against each other while at Auburndale on April 29. The Loyal girls team continued the line of success it has had so far this season with another win at the invitational while the other teams had more successes in individual events.

The Greyhound girls had a strong showing once again with top performances by both their individuals and relay teams. Taking first place on relays was the 4x200m team of Leah Scherer, Sheila Tellock, Haven Peroshek and Alyssia Zvolena, which finished in 1:54.13. Scherer, Tellock and Zvolena joined Aubre Robida in the 4x100m relay, which also placed first with a time of 52.38. The 4x400m relay team (Abrial Kubista, Noelle Teschner, Lisa Steffens, Tellock) placed second with a time of 4:33.02 while the 4x800m relay team (Molly Zvolena, Hannah Strey, Maci Bogdonovich, Teschner) finished fifth with a time of 12:45.97.

Individual results for the Loyal girls are as follows: Alyssia Zvolena, 1st, high jump, 5’1”; Sheila Tellock, 2nd, pole vault, 8’6”; Abrial Kubista, 2nd, triple jump, 34’6.5”, 2nd, 300m hurdles, 54.39, 6th, 100m hurdles, 19.38; Leah Scherer, 2nd, 200m dash, 28.55; Aubre Robida, 2nd, 100m dash, 13.80, 3rd, 200m dash, 28.61; Shalisha Buchanan, 3rd, shot put, 31’7”; Lisa Steffens, 4th, 400m dash, 1:06.26, 8th, long jump, 13’10.25”; Carlotta Sartorazzi, 4th, pole vault, 7’6”; Olivia Nikolai, pole vault, 7’6”, Autumn Zvolena, 4th, high jump, 4’6”, 8th, 300m hurdles, 57.98; Haven Peroshek, 6th, discus, 85’5”, 8th, shot put, 29’; Emma Clausen Skjong, 8th, 100m hurdles, 19.80; Noelle Teschner, 8th, 400m dash, 1:15.34.

For the Loyal boys, only one athlete managed to score in the top eight. Connor Genteman placed in three events, taking third in the 800m run (2:14.01), fifth in the 1600m run (5:06.84) and seventh in the 3200m run (11:52.14).

The Spencer track and field team also had runners compete and place at Auburndale. Running relays for the boys was the 4x400m relay team of Levi Anderson, Kaizer Eickleberry, Malachai Anderson and Noah Schultz, which placed fourth with their combined time of 3:52.30. Also placing fourth for the Rocket boys was the 4x200m relay team (Niklas Pohl, Landon Behselich, Malachai Anderson, Eickleberry), which ran a 1:41.85 for the placing.

Individual results for the Spencer boys are as follows: Kyle Nieman, 2nd, pole vault, 10’6”, 5th, 100m hurdles, 18.74; Alexander Baumgarten, 2nd, pole vault, 10’6”; Johnathon Jonas, 6th, high jump, 5’2”; Levi Anderson, 7th, high jump, 5’.

The Spencer girls had one relay team finish in the top eight. Sabrina Alessio, Daniela Guzman Pallares, Aurora Porcu and Hannah Reckner ran the 4x200m, taking eighth with a time of 2:14.39.

For the Greenwood track and field team, hurdles, relays and distance events were the strong points where they had the most success. The boys and girls team each had one relay team place on April 29. Taking fifth was the girls 4x400m relay team of Kia Abel, Bria Thomas, Sarah Reiff and Candela Soto, which ran a 5:04.30 for the placing. Andy Mitchell, Avrey Horvath, Hunter Ellis and Cody Eckes ran the 4x800m relay for the Indian boys, finishing in eighth place with a time of 11:06.49.

Individual results for the Greenwood boys and girls are as follows: Ashtin Palms, 2nd, 300m hurdles, 46.21, 4th, 110m hurdles, 18.71; Avrey Horvath, 6th, 3200m run, 11:27.59; Christian Thomas, 7th, long jump, 16’7.5”; Kia Abel, 7th, 100m hurdles, 19.69, 7th, 300m hurdles, 55.74; Katlund Etlicher, 8th, 3200m run, 16:11.06.

The Granton track and field team had a couple individuals and two relay teams place at Auburndale. Taking sixth place was the 4x400m relay team (5:10.12) of Faustina Thomas, Dolorosa Thomas, Maya McConkey and Anna Kayhart. Lizzy Reinart, Alexis Pongratz, Jordan Berg and Kayhart ran the 4x800m relay, taking seventh with a time of 12:32.53.

Individually, Faustina Thomas placed in two events, taking fifth in the 400m dash (1:09.53) and seventh in the triple jump (29’4.75”). Lizzy Reinart finished eighth in the high jump with a leap of 4’2” and in the boys events, Alex Gardner took eighth in the 400m dash with a time of 56.75.

There were 14 teams that competed in the girls events at Auburndale. Loyal finished in first place overall with 122 points, beating out Stratford (100.7), Medford Area (99), Abbotsford (77.4), Newman Catholic (62.4), Chequamegon (55.4), Assumption (49.5), Auburndale (49.2), Neillsville (30.2), Owen-Withee (20), Greenwood, which placed 11th with 12 points, Granton, which took 12th with 11.2 points, Columbus Catholic (10) and Spencer, which took the final spot with one point.

For the boys events, none of the area teams placed higher than 10th, with the top three placings going to Auburndale (106), Neillsville (104.5) and Stratford (101). Spencer earned 33 points to take 10th, Greenwood finished in 12th with 20 points with Loyal right behind in 13th with 12 points, and Granton took 14th with one point.
