Well, it appears I’m back ….

Well, it appears I’m back on track after a long drawn out ten days of darkness. That’s days without my computer, which means no e-mails, no contacts with family or friends, just sort of a blank world.
At least it appears to be going in the right direction and hopefully this will make it into print. When Sue heard about my problem on the first of the year, she decided enough was enough and took it on herself to order me a new computer. Well, then there is the rest of the story. She bought the computer but left a few strings attached. No Christmas presents for a while and then all the special days in between. Like Groundhog’s Day, Valentines Day, the first day of spring, St. Patrick’s Day, April Fool’s Day, May Day, my birthday and the list just goes on and on.

Then there is the name. Jackie insisted, since I have a whole list of friends already, the new computer had to have a name. So I thought for a few minutes. There is Josephine, my walking stick, Alfred, my Hurrycane and Tommy, my walker. Then it struck me. Since working on computers all these years I realize I still live in kind of a fantasy world. You just have to live with it and enjoy it. So I came up with Dorothy and hopefully can survive in the strange world around us. Just to make sure, the new printer is none other than Toto and we are a family. And talk about family, it took granddaughter’s husband, Gary
Rueth, to make the final connection to the wireless world.

We certainly have been blessed with some mild weather, and beautiful I might add. The frosty trees are something to behold. You have to feel a little bit sorry for those people who went south to Florida, Texas or Arizona, at the beauty we are enjoying, but I doubt if they would want to come back to see it. I’m sure family and friends have sent enough pictures their way to see it all.

As I worked today the computer brought me some good news on Facebook. My grandson, Dr. Will Hayman, is currently working in the intensive care unit at the Seattle’s Children Hospital. So there is good news once in a while.

The only other thing on my mind this week has been the invasion and destruction in our nation’s Capitol. I became alarmed four years ago when he began his term in office. His failure to follow certain procedures that were normal for all other Presidents seemed to be ignored. Then it appeared the majority of Republicans seemed to jump on his bandwagon and as time went on things got worse. He did give us fair warning by saying if he didn’t win the election it would be a fraud. The fact he lost by 7 million votes didn’t seem to matter and a good many people seemed to believe him.
