As we all navigate the changes in our day-to-day routines many of us have come to realize it has taken an emotional toll. Emerging research is forecasting an increased need for mental health treatment and services in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis.

If you have found economic hardship, social isolation, quarantines or virtual education have put an undue strain on you or your family, these suggestions may be of benefit to you.

- Focus on what you can control: This includes your thoughts and behaviors.

- Be mindful of the music you listen to, what you read and what you watch: Limiting exposure to 24/7 news or social media updates will greatly reduce anxiety overthings outside your control.

- Smile: Be able to laugh at yourself. Practice positive self-talk. Reflect on your reactions - Don’t let fear influence your decisions.

- Be Thankful: Make a gratitude list. List all the things and people you are grateful for. If possible, call or write to them and let them know how you appreciate them.

- Eat Healthy and Exercise: Eating properly can help to reduce stress.Maintaining a healthy diet will help your immune system and mental health. Get a healthy amount of quality sleep; neither too much nor too little. Walking 30 minutes a day can help boost your mood and improve your health.
