If you think about life, everything comes out of nowhere. Even if you have it planned out and things go the way you want them - that is still by chance. In a split second your life changes. It could be by a positive chance like finding twenty dollars on the street right as you open your door; or possibly the other way and getting a text/phone call that makes your world close in, darken and crumble.

There are different points in your life when it distinctly shifts. The before and the after. How can one come back from a possible major setback? Some people have a very hard time to find the light and others are the opposite and are awakened to life and see what a complete gift it is. The simplest actions of everyday - the lift of a finger, or a wiggle of some toes, the inhale of breathe. Each and every process are major workings in our brain. From speech to minor motor movements, of closing and opening ones eyes to full blown complete movements of an arm and a leg.

Most of us take the things listed above, and more, for granted because we have become so used to the everyday function of our body. When we become sick, generally most of us understand what needs to happen and rest - others, well they keep going. Trucking on without any respite.

I generally am the type of person who can find the beauty in the smallest of things, such as the morning dew on the thinnest blades of grass or the warm orange of sunlight cascading over the sky falling onto the trees and landing in a sunset. But even I have trouble sometimes truly seeing the gift of the smallest actions - until recently. That is to be expected though in life. Humans are flawed and not always in touch with everything inside or even externally at all times. That usually pertains to the complexities and balance of our life. But if we remain cognizant to these small gifts of what one would describe as easy, everyday life, the way we look at our world and life and faith can become stronger.

I guess what I am really trying to say is - stop taking life for granted. Try to remove your ego from yourself and look at your life from an external point of view. You might be surprised at all you do for others, or you might see that you would like to do and give more. Spend quality time with the ones you love and if you aren’t able to spend the time, at least express and share your gratitude and love for them. For today is a gift and tomorrow is never promised. Feel the loving energy from friends, family and the kind strangers in your world.
