Maximize Summer Internships with PDP Accelerate Workshop

Across the country, college students are gaining valuable hands-on experiences and learning about future opportunities in the agriculture sector with internship programs. A fast-paced oneday workshop hosted by Professional Dairy Producers (PDP) is the perfect complement to employer-sponsored intern programs by providing professional leadership and communications skills training specifically for students pursuing careers in agriculture.

The program will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., on July 22, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Madison East in Madison. PDP Accelerate™ will be facilitated by Michael Hoffman, founder and owner of Igniting Performance, Inc. He brings more than 25 years of experience in training leaders in sales, customer loyalty and leadership skills and has built strong ties in the dairy industry.

“Our business has sent five summer interns to PDP Accelerate the last couple years and they’ve all returned with positive feedback and appreciated the opportunity,” said Josh Mullins, plant manager and co-owner of Mullins Cheese, Mosinee. “This is a good program to help young adults with organizational skills.”

It’s designed to enhance a student’s internship experience while also helping them develop a commanding professional presence, elevate communications skills, networking and leadership abilities, and conduct meaningful presentations in professional settings.

Attendees will also be taught specific strategies to equip them to “read a room,” connect with their audience and tailor messages to meet presentation goals. Hoffman will also share top tips for incorporating meaningful props and tools to keep listeners engaged.
