Body talks

Body talks Body talks

As I sit here to ponder on what to write you all today, my body is talking with me very fervently about the movement I have done the night prior. My body knows what exercise is, but for the latter part of the last couple of years I have not seen the inside of the weight room or done yoga regularly (or at all) and all the other exercise- y things have almost entirely gone to the wayside. A workaholic is what I might be turning into. That is not at all a good thing. For my career I need to keep pushing to make it somewhere; however, I also can’t let my physical health go out the window either. So, compromises have to be made.

If you are an avid reader of mine you have a bit of insight of my life and what it all consists of, if not, let’s just say I am a very busy woman. Let me ask though, is there a chance in another alternate universe I am already accomplished in my career and I have time for what I want to do more in life? Let’s keep the hope alive.

How does one keep afloat in the time that seems to whip by, with your head about you? I would really like to know the answer to that. Most, I am just assuming here, would say that I need to stop taking on so much. That doesn’t seem to be my style though, and I want to help others with the skills I know I possess. Can I just have more time in the day to fill up with more work and more time with loved ones (yes, you’re included in that, my friends)?

Even the weekends seem to fly by. I guess I have fun on the weekends, but they seem so filled up with all of the activities and family events that are going on that they go by so quickly. I would like a weekend from my weekends. A lot factors into it though. They always say time flies when you’re having fun, but what about rest. Can’t I press the pause button and rest on a normal basis and not feel like I am needing to work on something else, whether that be my schooling or other work?

I know most of you have gone through similar feelings in your life. What did you do to slow down and enjoy and not feel rushed in your life. I am afraid I am missing the best parts about everything in these surrounding years. Tis the time of the year, where summer is closing in and the days are getting shorter. Maybe that is why myself (and potentially) others are feeling a bit of time loss.

I have some great friends who encourage me and inspire me to take time for exercising everyday. For instance, you might see me biking to work now on a regular basis. It has been sporadic in the past, but thanks to them it’s more on a daily now. Movement is good and not just the mental movement, which I am all too familiar with. Describing to someone what happened in my head takes a heck of a lot longer time than the 1/100th of a millisecond it took to complete the transactional function within my brain. Oh well, such as life, right? I hope you take the time to do some exercise daily, whether it’s a short walk outside or going for a bike ride. You might be a little sore but you’ll thank yourself later for the time you gave to yourself and to your body.
