Scouts at camp A group of 12 Boy Scouts made a trip to Camp Tesomas near Rhinelander the week prior, while the area’s Girl Scouts spent the week at Long Lake near Clintonville.

Three area agriculture teachers attend state ag conference Dale Strassburg, Don Spranger and Phil Rasmussen, agriculture instructors from Abbotsford and Colby attended a week-long conference held at UW-Madison. The topics discussed included the future of agriculture, career education and continuing education in agriculture.
Abby Merchants post two wins The city baseball team grabbed a pair of victories over Rozellville, 10-9 and 6-3. Ron Pipes and Mark Scotch both went 3-for-4 in the first game to lead the team to victory.

Beanie Babies stolen from Colby gift shop Approximately 750 Beanie Baby stuffed animal collectibles were stolen during a burglary on July 6. While cash and candy were also stolen from the business, Clark County authorities believe that the stuffed animals were specifically targeted, with some of the individual collectibles selling for hundreds of dollars.
Area youth seeks to help hospitalized kids Ten-year old Travis Kraft of Abbotsford looks to garner donations for Kids’ Colors, a program he started that looks to provide kids hospitalized in Marshfield and Wausau with coloring books and crayons.
