On the coast of somewhere else

You can find me elsewhere... on the coastline of an ‘inland sea,’ next to the Lady of the Lakes, mother Superior.
You might find me gazing out towards the vast, seemingly-neverending beautiful spread of fresh water. I know it ends but when looking out over the water, anything seems possible. The infinite possibilities are there in my head; calming, yet exhilarating.
I always wondered why Lake Superior was called the lady of the lakes. I didn’t know that lakes had a gender. A little fun there but in reality, the reasoning for it is it’s the largest surface area lake in the world and it contains more than all of the other great lakes combined, plus a couple extra of Lake Eries in there too. That is massive. Just in those facts alone my mind is blown away. I will bring you just one more fact here that will help you encapsulate the magnitude of it. There is enough water in mother Superior to cover both North and South America, and still be about a foot deep.
There are countless other facts that I can regurgitate here but you can also find that online. I know my ramblings might not be everyone’s cup of tea but sharing these words, something out to come out from them and maybe a little wisdom or inspiration finds its way to you. For now you can only find my thoughts publicly here on these pages.
During my stay up in the UP (upper Michigan) I found my love of exploring and hiking again. I love hearing the waves crash against rocks or into itself, only to make newer waves further down the shoreline. Having this long extended weekend birthday getaway makes me think of possibly moving up there. However, I don’t know if I will be this sane when the snow would tumble and fall down. I often think to myself that I definitely should be living closer to water, and a big body of water.
While on a Pictured Rocks cruise that extended down the coastline of Lake Superior, we came across a little fishing village. My love of fish is not extreme but for some reason I could see myself living in a smaller fishing village with my puppers. Right off the coast of anywhere, be it an ‘inland sea’ or the ocean. A beautiful home with a gorgeous deck that I may sit out on to watch birds pass by, the waves roll in and out, possibly Sasquatch meandering through giving me a wave as I work (because in my imagination he is a gentle giant and my internet connection would be off the charts good). I could go exploring with my trusty doggy sidekick. I think I would have to be closer to a bigger city of sorts, for times when I need to have civilization around me and so I could have some amazing delivery seafood included.
Until then, I will be here more inland than I want but in due time, I will be where my soul calls to the great bodies of water. Wherever that may be. At that time you might here me singing some sea shanties while painting as you walk onto my property to say hello. I will be a nautical hippie, if that is a thing, filled with brightness that only can be seen, not described.
