Chamber of Commerce meets, outlines improvements The Chamber of Commerce discussed putting flushing toilets at the athletic park. William Hoffman offered to give an easement to cross his property while Francis Melvin offered to donate the work of digging the sewer.

Airman honored Tech Sgt. Loren C. Bates was one of nine men chosen as outstanding airmen of the 815th Operations Squadron. Bates is the son of Clint Bates of Abbotsford.

Guards win two games during past week The Abbotsford Guards baseball team beat Little Rose and Owen to get over .500 in Cloverbelt League baseball play.

Dorchester centennial celebration The Village of Dorchester is officially 100 years old this year and is celebrating it’s centennial this week which is incorporated into the annual “Dorchester Days.”

Colby board OK’s leasing computers The Colby School Board this week approved a motion that will bring 84 new computers into high and elementary school classrooms next year on a lease agreement.

Marisa Frank earns summer music scholarship Marisa Frank was recently awarded a scholarship at UW-Stevens Point to attend a summer music clinic. Frank received the scholarship for her outstanding piano performance at the WSMA’s State Music Festival.
