Vote for the future of our country

Vox Pop

I’m wondering how many people ever change their voting habits.

My father voted pretty much along party lines most of his early life. Then, he felt the party he had always voted for had left what he believed in. He could relate to Roosevelt, Truman, and Kennedy but the party they represented had been turned upside down. The Democratic party had left my father.

Many people won’t change party affiliation because this is the way they and their family have voted their entire lives. My father did decide that the Democratic party no longer represented his views. He passed away a few years ago, but, if he was alive, I’m sure he would be shocked by the direction the Democratic party has taken.

My father would be voting for a man who gets the job done. We may not like the bedside manner of a doctor but we are looking at the end results. The same can be said of a leader.

Here are a few things to consider when voting: 1) Second Amendment; 2) Supreme Court Selection, 3) Police/Law and Order, 4) Strong Military, 5) Veterans, 6) Flying our flag, 7) Freedom of speech, 8) Secure borders; 9) Fair trade deals, 10) Energy, 11) If they support organizations that don’t represent our values, 12) School choice, 13) Unborn souls. I hope you know where each party and candidate stand on these and many more issues that are not listed. We can’t let our country go down the road to Socialism. Don’t vote on feelings – vote for the future of our country. — Michael Selby, Medford
