Since when is $49 trillion less than $32 trillion

Vox Pop

What has the Trump Plague taught us? First and foremost it taught us that Australia, Bahrain, Belgium, Brunei, Canada, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, and United Kingdom are smarter than the USA because they all have some form of universal health care where they can lose their job but still have health care. They don’t have to worry about bills from the health care industry for, from what I’ve read, over $30,000 for respiratory care. None of them will go into medical bankruptcy. Smart.

Who is running for president that will stand up for the working class and institute universal health care? Not Trump. Biden even said he would veto a bill if it came to his desk. It is part of the Green platform.

According to the GOP flyer, universal, “Socialist,” health care would cost $32 trillion dollars. They conveniently failed to mention that the failed health care system we already have, cost $49 trillion. So Socialist health care would saves lives, keep people from medical bankruptcy, end the blasted, never ending paperwork, and actually save $17 trillion.

But it would “virtually eliminate private insurance plans.” Corporate politicians see that as a problem. Not paying a middle man to deny health care is actually an asset. Insurance doesn’t contribute anything to health care.

Next thing we learned was migrant workers, shelf stockers, cashiers, farm workers, teachers, and others, are essential workers and deserve our respect not only now but when this is over. Minimum wage of $15. an hour doesn’t sound like that much for people who put their lives on the line for our families. The ones that proved not to be essential were Congress critters who took a vacation and Biden who went into hiding. Didn’t miss him.

What we all should have learned is that one third of the workers in the United States can shut down the country and bring the bastards to their freaking knees. One Third! Without the working class, they are powerless. We The People can demand that things change. But instead the hackable voting machines will give us the same old overlords vs. peasants. The peasants pay their taxes, the overlords don’t. The collected taxes go to tax breaks for the overlords. Wash, rinse repeat.

If you accepted $1,200 or Social Security or any money from the government—remember it’s your money, your tax dollars they have grudgingly given you—if you took that money, then you are a Socialist. If you support the troops who are paid with your tax dollars, then you are a Socialist. If you get your mail delivered, etc. you are a Socialist. Other countries expect their tax dollars to pay for their health care and some of them pay for their education but in the U.S. we pay for extravagant lifestyles of the rich and ugly by giving them tax breaks and subsidies on top of their profits (think oil).

Protesting social distancing and wearing masks during a pandemic is just as stupid and hopefully as futile as protesting seat belts. Quit your bitching and do what is right for the health of the country. Have you no shame? Maybe, instead of arresting you we should just take away your “Socialism.” — Linda Osolkowski, Rib Lake
