SPARC celebrates completion of Phase II of pickleball courts
Shown above are Spencer Pickleball Area Recreational Club members and supporters with what has been dubbed the Terry Prust Practice Wall. Prust is standing just to the left of the name. “Without Terry’s knowledge, expertise, and knowing the next step to take, I don’t think we would be where we are at today. This is an expression of our appreciation to you for spearheading it,” said club member Sheveney Verhulst in a dedication ceremony Oct. 13. Shown below is the completed six-court complex at the Spencer ARC Park. Phase II included painting the courts, athletic sealcoating, and adding fencing. The entire project has cost approximately $77,000, and was made possible through countless volunteer hours as well as in-kind service and material donations. VALORIE BRECHT/STAFF PHOTOS
