Indianhead Community Action Agency, Inc. (ICAA) is excited to announce their receipt of funding from the Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board. Funds received will allow ICAA to provide parent education in partnership with school districts and area clinics. ICAA’s project will provide Parent Cafes where parents can increase their parental protective factors through meaningful conversations with other parents that address parenting challenges through shared experiences.
We are grateful to receive this funding from the Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board,” said Jennifer Shearer, CEO of ICAA. “Through partnerships with local schools and clinics, we will be able to provide parent education and Parent Cafés that foster connection, support, and the development of protective factors. This investment helps strengthen families by creating safe spaces for parents to share experiences, build resilience, and support one another.” Grant funds will be used to support ICAA’s Family Resource Center bringing supplementary primary prevention services that can support decreased incidents of child abuse and neglect.
