Pilcrow Foundation grant helps enrich Western Taylor County Public Library

The Western Taylor County Public Library (WTCPL) in Gilman has received a generous grant from the Pilcrow Foundation. The Pilcrow Foundation's commitment to providing quality hardcover children's books to rural public libraries across the United States is appreciated.

Through the Pilcrow Foundation's Children's Book Project grant, WTCPL has been able to acquire 120 new books, adding to the collection of children and juvenile titles, board books, chapter books, math/science and health wellness books. The $1,700 worth of books received through this grant is a significant addition to the library. This initiative, supported by the Pilcrow Foundation's generous donors, helps ensure that the library can continue to provide a vibrant resource for young readers.

The Pilcrow Foundation understands the crucial role that public libraries play in rural communities. These libraries are often important centers for learning and community engagement but may face funding challenges. By providing a 2-to-1 match for funds raised locally, they empower libraries to acquire the resources needed to foster literacy and a love of reading in children. Their efforts ensure that children in rural areas have access to highquality books that will benefit them for years to come.

We thank the Friends of the Library WTCPL who helped meet the matching fund requirement of the grant. This support is a testament to the importance of literacy in the community and strengthens the impact of this grant.

The support from the Pilcrow Foundation is invaluable to the library and the children it serves. The new books will provide opportunities for fostering a love of reading and learning in the community. These books will inspire curiosity and imagination in young patrons. Thank you, Pilcrow Foundation, for the generosity!

Everyone is invited to visit the WTCPL and explore the new collection made possible by the Pilcrow Foundation.
