Statewide more than 2.5 million ….

Statewide more than 2.5 million people are member owners of credit unions.

Like many credit unions, Taylor Credit Union has a focus on improving the financial wellness of its members. Taylor Credit Union provides financial coaching at their Medford and Abbotsford offi ces. The coaching is private, individualized support from a certified coach with topics including creating a budget and managing money, debt management, credit score basics, identity theft prevention, checkbook balancing and how to deal with and overcome unexpected financial hardships. In Abbotsford Melissa Holtzhausen and Stephanie Wellman serve as financial coaches while at Medford Jessica Henrichs and Becki Fallos serve as financial coaches.

Outside of his work in the financial areas, Krause is active in the community and with his children’s activities. He is also strongly involved in working with rural agricultural leadership programs including work with the Taylor County 4-H serving with the Youth Leadership Organization and projects since 2017.

He has worked with the Taylor County 4H program for many years and praised it for being a positive thing for young people with agriculture continuing to be a large part of the economy both locally and statewide. He said he has found benefi t for both youth and adults in the programs.

All of his children have been active in 4-H with the three oldest completing the Key Award, which is the highest award a 4-H member can receive and represents work through the student’s lifetime of 4-H service and leadership.

Krause said he looks forward to continuing the support Taylor Credit Union has shown to the youth programs and events such as the Taylor County Fair. Taylor Credit Union provides coupons to 4H participants to purchase food at the fair.

In addition to his work with 4-H, Krause has also been active in local government. He is a current member of the village of Dorchester planning commission, a position he has held since 2011. He was Dorchester Village President from 2011 to 2013 and prior to that was on the village board as a village trustee from 2003 to 2011.

Looking to the future, Krause said he will continue the work done by his predecessors over the years to provide a full range of financial services to individuals and businesses in their service area. Taylor Credit Union membership is open to people who live and work in Taylor, Clark, Price, Lincoln, and Marathon counties.

While based at the Medford office, Krause also plans to spend time at the Abbotsford branch and get to know the members in all the communities Taylor Credit Union serves.
