This past year Medford Cooperative has grown over 40%. This new growth allows them to reinvest in their Ag Services division by offering new services and capabilities. Medford Cooperative is pleased to announce the hiring of an integral position to their Ag Services team. Carl Kass is joining the organization as the new Nutritionist and Feed Sales Consultant. This will be a new service offered to our members.

In his position, Kass will help area farmers optimize the feed intake of their herd. He will help formulate rations and monitor dry matter intake to help improve feed efficiency and Income Over Feed Costs (IOFC); consult on digestive ingredients and forage analysis to increase milk production; work with all aspects of farm management; support and partner with veterinarians on overall cow management issues; track feed inventories and supplies; and interpret data integrity and perform data analysis.

Kass received an Associate Degree in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University, a Bachelor of Business Administration from Davenport University; and a Master in Ag Business from Kansas State University. Additionally, he grew up on a 300-head family farm in Michigan, providing him with a strong upbringing in agriculture.

Medford Cooperative has over110 years of expertise in serving agricultural producers. The Ag Services division continues to experience significant growth due to the trust and confidence that customers place in the services provided.

“We are excited to be able to expand ag services to our customers. I am confident that Carl’s knowledge and agricultural background will be instrumental to the farmers that he works with,” commented Chris Piotrowski, Medford Cooperative’s CEO.

Medford Cooperative is currently one of the fastest growing cooperatives in Wisconsin, with a long history in serving the agricultural community. The Cooperative looks forward to contributions Kass will make towards both their Agricultural division and the communities it serves.
