Two vehicle crashes

On March 8 at 8:40 a.m. a vehicle driven by Karla Weichinger, 44, of Rice Lake, owned by Shared Medical Technology Inc. was backed out of a parking space to leave the parking lot. At that time, Edward Dassow Jr., 81, of Medford was backing out of a space across from Weichinger. Dassow stated he did not see Weichinger while backing out of the space. Dassow backed into the driver side door of Weichinger’s vehicle causing minor damages to the door. Dassow’s vehicle sustained no damages.

At 2:56 p.m. on March 2, Stacey James Volk, 59, of Ingram was driving southbound on STH 73 and had to swerve to avoid a northbound vehicle that had crossed the centerline. Volk stated that he went into the ditch and was unable to regain control, and ended up striking a utility box before coming to a stop. Volk advised that the northbound vehicle was a white pickup truck and that there was no contact between the vehicles and that the white pick up continued heading northbound. Volk’s vehicle sustained functional damage to its front, right front corner and left side front and middle. Volk was issued a citation for failure to wear seat belt.

On March 6 at 9:11a.m., Adam Hovland, 41, of Colby was traveling westbound on Stetson Ave. west Hall Dr. Harley Waldhart, 76, from Medford struck the driver’s side of Hovland’s vehicle due to the roads being covered in snow. No damage was sustained by Waldhart’s tractor. Hovland’s vehicle sustained functional damage to its left side. Hovland was issued a citation for failure to display vehicle license plates.

Animal related Crashes

On March 4 at 10:17 p.m. William Retterath, 66, of Medford was traveling westbound on CTH O east of STH 13 when Retterath hit a deer causing functional damage to the front of the vehicle.

On March 8 at 12:00 p.m. Brian Marx, 46, of Rib Lake was going northbound on CTH C south of Trout Ave. in the town of Greenwood, when his vehicle struck a deer causing minor damage to the front of his vehicle.

At 5:55 p.m. on March 1, Jean Osen, 57, of Westboro was traveling northbound on STH 13 north of Johns Ln in the town of Chelsea when she struck a deer with her vehicle causing functional damage to the left side of her car.
