R eports Injury

A vehicle driven by Alexis Massmann, 21, of Medford, was traveling southbound on CTH E at 12:40 a.m. on January 19 when it ran off the right side of the road and entered the west ditch and struck an old driveway entrance. The vehicle then became air born, landing on Center Ave. and overturned coming to rest in the southwest corner of the CTH E/Center Ave. intersection on its roof facing south. The vehicle sustained disabling damage to its whole right and left side and to the rear of the vehicle. Massmann was transported by EMS ground to Aspirus Medford Hospital. Massmann was issued citations for inattentive driving and failing to wear seatbelt.

Hit and Run crash

A vehicle owned by James Melvin Trucking Inc. was parked legally off the road way when a vehicle driven by Jaime Obelio Espino Guerra, 20, of Medford was traveling westbound on Urquhart St. on January 25 and was attempting to negotiate a corner onto North St. Guerra slid around the corner striking the Melvin truck. Guerra left the scene. Police were notified on January 27 at 10:10 a.m. The Melvin truck had functional damage to the front of the vehicle. Guerra’s vehicle sustained functional damage on its left side. Guerra was issued citations for operating without a valid license (1st violation) and failure to notify police of accident.

Parking lot crash

A vehicle owned by Patrick McConnell, 38, of Medford was backing out of the parking stall located on the east side of the Kwik Trip parking lot. When a vehicle driven by Gordon Lekies, 68, of Medford was traveling southbound in the parking lot on January 27 at 10:52 a.m. McConnell backed into Lekies’ vehicle striking the rear driver side panel. McConnell’s vehicle sustained functional damage to the rear passenger side tailgate and bumper. Lekies’ vehicle sustained functional damage to the rear driver panel. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.

A vehicle owned by Adams County Sheriff’s office and driven by Verne Twachtman, 86, of Friendship was entering Sally port at the Taylor County jail on January 12 at 11:27 a.m. with 2 passengers in the car. Twachtman side swiped the corner of the garage door. The vehicle sustained functional damage to its right middle and rear side.

A vehicle driven by Katherine King, 68, was traveling eastbound through a parking lot on north 8th St. at 10:10 a.m. on January 27 when Suzanna Gehrke, 76, backed out of the parking stall and struck King’s vehicle, causing damage to the rear driver’s side of King’s vehicle and rear driver side bumper of Gehrke’s vehicle.

Deer related crash

A vehicle driven by Larry Jacobi, 65, of Rothschild was eastbound on CTH D about 0.42 miles east of Miller Dr. in the town of Jump River on January 24 at 5:40 p.m. when Jacobi hit a deer causing disabling damage to the front and underside of the vehicle.

A vehicle driven by Robert Filipiak, 60, of Westboro was traveling westbound on STH 64 about 977 feet east of Castle Rd. in the town of Medford at 6:44 a.m. on January 23 when Filipiak hit a deer causing functional damage to the front left side of the vehicle.
