The Taylor County Fair will be open from Thursday, July 28 to Sunday, July 31. Get ready for 4 days full of games, rides, Grandstand shows, wonderfully greasy fair food, and many more exciting events and activities.

The events that will be available each day throughout the fair include the S& J Enterprises Carnival, Open Class Exhibition, 4H Food Stand, Farmers Union Junior Ice Cream Booth, Cans for a Cause, Youth Exhibits, Huey’s Hideaway Children’s Activities and Phillips Children’s Traveling Museum. Huey’s Hideaway and the Phillips Children’s Museum are new to the fair this year and will offer several entertaining activities for the kids.

The Open Class Exhibition will be located in the Multipurpose building and Youth Exhibits will be located in Exhibit Hall.The food court has a new spot this year and will be located in front of the Co-op building on the fairgrounds.

The highlights of the fair include the following: Thursday, July 28 — WHPA Horse pull at 5 p.m., wristband rides from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and a performance by musician Tom Burt from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tom Burt is the band director at Medford’s middle school and a local musician who performs covers for a wide range of popular songs from the 60’s to present day. Wristbands can be purchased at the fair for $25 or preordered online at the Taylor County Fair website. You can pick up your preordered wristbands at the fairgrounds when the event is open.

Friday, July 29 — Ag Adventure Tent from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., K99 Dairy Dessert Contest at 2 p.m., MASS Market Animal Auction at 6 p.m., and the National Tractor Pullers Association at 7:30 p.m. located in the Grandstands.

The Ag Adventure tent will be open Friday though Sunday and will feature a variety of educational activities and presentations for children such as a petting zoo, a presentation on honeybees and much more.

The National Tractor Pullers Association classes will include WTPA Super Farm Tractors, WTPA Light Limited Super Stock Tractors, WTPA Light Super Stock Tractors, and WTPA Super Stock 4x4 Trucks. Tickets cost $12 for ages 10+ and there is free entry for children 9 and under.

Saturday, July 30 — Ag Adventure Tent from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., Pedal Pulls at 4 p.m., wristband rides from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Hometown Truck and Tractor Pulls at 5:30 p.m. located in the Grandstands.

During the Hometown Truck and Tractor Pull, local community members will be competing against one another for the travelling trophy. Trucks will include 4x4 Street Stock, Work Stock, 4x4 Improved Stock and Diesel. Tractors will include a 5800 lb tractor, 65000 Lite Limited Super Stock, and 8000 Pro Farm. All Semi and Exhibition are welcome.

Sunday, July 31 — Dress an Animal Contest from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Coin Search from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Ag Olympics from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., 56th Annual Wisconsin Fairest of the Fairs featuring Jackie Rosenbush, wristband rides from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., Ag Adventure Tent from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., and Peterson Promotions Demolition Derby located in the Grandstands.

Ag Olympics is open to all youth and will be located in the dairy show ring. Events will include relays, tugof- war, and other fun activities.

Peterson Promotions Demolition Derby will include several different classes including a youth class. Winners will receive cash prizes.

There will be no poultry at any of the fair events due to recent concerns with the Avian Bird Flu.
