Gregory A. Hoefs, 46, Medford, and Josephine F. Kohn, 48, Medford, were involved in an accident on August 4 at 4:30 p.m. on Whelen Avenue in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, the Hoefs vehicle was northbound on Whelen Avenue and stopped for the yield sign at the intersection with West Perkins Street. The Kohn vehicle was westbound on West Perkins Street and making a left turn onto Whelen Avenue. Kohn said she looked but did not see the Hoefs vehicle due to an oncoming non-contact traffic on Perkins Street. Kohn turned too sharply and her vehicle struck the front of the Hoefs vehicle, damaging the front, left front corner and left side front. The Kohn vehicle sustained disabling damage to the front, left front corner and left side front. It was towed from the scene. Improper turn and failure to keep in designated lane by Kohn were listed in the report as factors in the accident.

Lee R. Ratcliff, 54, Medford, and Charles H. Reise, 92, Colby, were involved in an accident on August 8 at 4:11 p.m. at the intersection of Hwy 64 and Billings Avenue in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, the Ratcliff vehicle was westbound on Hwy 64. The Reise vehicle was southbound on Billings Avenue and stopped for the stop sign at the intersection with Hwy 64. The driver of the Reise vehicle waited for an eastbound vehicle to pass and then began making a left turn onto Hwy 64. Reise stated he saw the Ratcliff vehicle but thought he had enough time to make the turn. The report stated when Reise realized a collision was imminent, he accelerated in an attempt to avoid the collision and drove directly into the path of the Ratcliff vehicle. Ratcliff sustained suspected serious injuries and was transported to Aspirus Medford Hospital for medical treatment. Reise and a passenger in the vehicle, Orvilla A. Reise, 93, Colby, sustained suspected minor injuries and were transported to Aspirus Medford Hospital for medical treatment.The Ratcliff vehicle sustained damage to the right side front, right front corner, front, left front corner and left side front. The Reise vehicle sustained damage to the left front corner, left side front and left side middle. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Failure to yield the right-of-way by Reise was listed in the report as a factor in the accident. He was issued a citation for failure to yield the right-of-way from a stop sign.

Robert W. Rehbein, 81, Medford, was involved in an accident on August 7 at 3 p.m. in a parking lot at 884 W. Broadway Ave. in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, the Rehbein vehicle was backing in the parking lot when the operator said his foot slipped off the brake, causing the vehicle to collide with a pole. The report stated Rehbein left the scene and reported the accident on August 9. The vehicle sustained damage to the right rear corner.

Luis G. Lopez Baeza, 25, Westboro, was involved in an accident on August 8 at 2:28 a.m. at the intersection of Hwy 13 and Ann’s Way in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, the Lopez Baeza vehicle was northbound on Hwy 13 when the fell asleep and failed to negotiate the roundabout at the intersection with Ann’s Way. The vehicle travelled across the roundabout and southbound lane of traffic where it struck a light pole in the northwest corner of the roundabout. The collision caused the light pole to fall across the southbound lane of traffic entering the roundabout, causing a complete road blockage. The vehicle continued in a northwest direction and came to a stop in the west ditch north of the roundabout. The vehicle sustained damage to the front, left front corner, rear, undercarriage and entire right side. It was towed from the scene. Failure to control, operating a motor vehicle in an inattentive, careless or erratic manner, and driver condition were listed in the report as factors in the accident. Lopez Baeza was issued citations for operating while under the influence and failure to keep vehicle under control.

The following deer-related accidents were reported: Jane E. Ostrowski, 61, Kronenwetter, on August 3 at 7:31 a.m. on Center Avenue in the town of Browning.

Roudy R. Arndt, 31, Merrill, on August 4 at 4:29 a.m. on CTH C in the town of Deer Creek.

Evelyne J. House, 82, Yulee, Fla., on August 5 at 4:03 p.m. on CTH H in the town of Pershing.

Autumn L. J. Evers, 19, Marshfield, on August 7 at 11:10 p.m. on CTH Q in the town of Medford.
