Amy J. Merrill, 49, Medford, and a vehicle owned by Jaymi S. Kohn, Medford, were involved in an accident on June 23 at 8:35 a.m. in a parking lot at the Taylor County Courthouse in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, the Merrill vehicle was pulling into a parking space when the driver turned too wide and struck the legally-parked and unoccupied Kohn vehicle in the adjacent parking space. The Merrill vehicle sustained minor damage to the right front corner. The Kohn vehicle sustained minor damage to the right front corner, right side front and right side middle.

Kathleen M. Poster-Bettner, 37, Medford, and a vehicle owned by Paul M. Frankki, Stetsonville, were involved in an accident on June 24 at 4:44 p.m. on Seventh Street in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, the Poster-Bettner vehicle was backing out of a driveway at 219 N. Seventh St. when it struck the Frankki vehicle which was legally-parked and unoccupied along the side of street. Poster-Bettner said she assumed there was no vehicle behind her when she started to back up. The Poster-Bettner vehicle sustained damage to the right front corner. The Frankki vehicle sustained damage to the left front side. Unsafe backing by Poster-Bettner was listed in the report as a factor in the accident.

David F. Searer, 58, Stetsonville, and Sally K. Maurer- Jensen, 76, Medford, were involved in an accident on June 26 at 9:53 a.m. at the intersection of Hwy 13 and 64 in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, the Searer vehicle was southbound on Hwy 13 approaching the intersection with Hwy 64. The Maurer-Jensen vehicle was westbound on Hwy 64 approaching the intersection with Hwy 13 when the driver failed to stop for the red traffic signal and struck the Searer vehicle. Maurer-Jensen admitted to accidentally failing to stop for the red traffic signal. Maurer-Jensen sustained possible injury and was transported for medical treatment to Aspirus Medford Hospital. The Searer vehicle sustained damage to the left front corner. The Maurer-Jensen sustained disabling damage to the right front corner and right side front. Disregarding a red traffic light and looking away from task by Maurer-Jensen were listed in the report as being factors in the accident. She was issued a citation for a red traffic light violation.

Erin A. Willes, 34, Wausau, and Payton R. Daino, 21, Medford, were involved in an accident on June 26 at 10:18 p.m. at the intersection of Hwy 64 and Center Avenue in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, the Daino vehicle was westbound on Hwy 64. The Willes vehicle was attempting to make a left turn from Central Avenue on to Hwy 64 when it collided with the Daino vehicle. Brett J. Kloth, 25, Medford, and a vehicle owned by David P. Shereda, Stetsonville, were involved in an accident on June 21 at 8:58 p.m. on West Martin Avenue in the village of Stetsonville. According to the accident report, the Kloth vehicle was westbound on West Martin Avenue when it struck the rear driverside corner of the legally-parked and unoccupied Shereda vehicle. Kloth left the scene and was located a short time later. The report went on to state that Kloth was intoxicated and stated he did not think there was any damage to either vehicle so he left. The Kloth vehicle sustained damage to the left front corner. The Shereda vehicle sustained minor damage to the left rear corner. Failure to control; operating a motor vehicle in an inattentive, careless or erratic manner; looking away from the task; and driver’s condition were all listed in the report as factors in the accident. Kloth was issued a citation for operating while under the influence.

Riley N. Kleist, 19, Medford, was involved in an accident on June 22 at 4:43 p.m. on CTH E in the town of Hammel. According to the accident report, the Kleist vehicle was southbound on CTH E when it was stopped by a pedestrian standing outside their residence who informed Kleist their was fire underneath his vehicle. Kleist exited the vehicle and the fire was extinguished by the Medford Area Fire Department. Kleist said he had been having oil pressure issues with his vehicle and that likely contributed to causing the fire. The vehicle sustained disabling damage to the undercarriage.

The following deer-related accidents were reported: Betty A. Radtke, 61, Rib Lake, on June 23 at 9:17 p.m. on Hwy 13 in the town of Medford.

Dustin J. Schneider, 24, Rib Lake, on June 24 at 9:30 p.m. on Hwy 13 in the town of Medford.
