Home and Business Expo weekend is packed
The 2020 Medford Area Chamber of Commerce Home and Business Expo will be held March 20-22 at the Simek Recreation Center in Medford.
This year’s show has a spy games theme with attendees invited to participate in the I Spy game for a chance to win a spy crate full of prizes. In addition, the first 100 kids each day will receive a spy magnifying glass and there will be special prizes each day for the 250th, 500th and 1,000th person.
Show hours are 4-8 p.m. on March 20, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 21 and 10 a.m to 3 p.m. on March 22.
In addition to visiting with dozens of area businesses and vendors at the show, there will also be a number of special events.
On March 20 at 6:30 p.m. in the upstairs area, The Star News and K99/ WIGM will be hosting a Mayoral Forum with candidates Mike Bub and Mike Wellner answering questions about why they should be elected. From 5 to 8 p.m. the Simek Center will hold a fish fry.
The Road to Home Ownership program will be presented each day with Dixon Greiner Realty and Peoples Choice Credit Union presenting at 6:30 p.m. on March 20. On March 21 Redefined Realty and Taylor Credit Union will present at 11 a.m. and Century 21 and Nicolet Bank will present at 11 a.m on March 22.
There will be a community garage sale as part of the show to raise funds for the purchase of a new police dog for the Taylor County Sheriff’s Department.
On March 20, people are invited to Drive 4Ur Community and help raise money for the Taylor County Killed In Action (KIA) Memorial. Ford will donate for each person going on a test drive that day with the goal to raise up to $5,000. The memorial will be dedicated this spring and the money raised will go toward accessibility upgrades to ensure that veterans and people of all ages can access the KIA Memorial as well as the Flag Field display.
In addition to the Home and Business Expo, Medford is also hosting the annual Quit Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 20 and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 21 at the Medford Area Senior High School.
There will be a Bridal and Event Expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 22 and the Taylor County Health and Safety Fair on March 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. both events are at the Medford Area Elementary School
