Accident reports

Larry D. Sellnow, 61, Curtiss, and Allen L. Cypher, 74, Stetsonville, were involved in an accident on February 27 at 12:10 p.m. in a parking lot at 115 Hwy 13 in the village of Stetsonville. According to the accident report, the Sellnow vehicle was illegally parked in a handicapped parking space and was backing out when it struck the Cypher vehicle, which was illegally parked and unoccupied in front of a dumpster next to the Sellnow vehicle. The Sellnow vehicle sustained minor damage to the left rear corner and left side rear. The Cypher vehicle sustained minor damage to the right side middle and right side rear. Looked but did not see by Sellnow and illegally parking by Cypher were listed in the report as factors in the accident.

Chayse J. Turchen, 18, Cornell, and Joseph J. Czarnecki, 56, Gilman, were involved in an accident on March 1 at 8:25 a.m. at the intersection of Hwy 64 and Eddy Lane in the town of Aurora. According to the accident report, both vehicles were westbound on Hwy 64. The Turchen vehicle turned north at the intersection with Eddy Lane and then initiated a U-turn to go east on Hwy 64 when it was struck by the Czarnecki vehicle. Both Turchen and Czarnecki sustained possible injuries but were not transported for medical treatment. The Turchen vehicle sustained disabling damage to the front, left front corner, left side front and left side middle. The Czarnecki vehicle sustained disabling damage to front, left front corner and right front corner. Failure to yield the right-of-way by Turchen was listed in the report as a factor in the accident.

Meranda L. Gehrke, 46. Owen, was involved in an accident on February 22 at 2:46 a.m. on Hwy 64 in the town of Medford. According to the accident report, the Gehrke vehicle was eastbound on Hwy 64 when the driver encountered fog and did not see that the road curved. The vehicle entered the south ditch and struck several small trees and brush. There was disabling damage to the entire vehicle. Gehrke was issued citations for failure of operator to notify police of an accident and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

Christine K. Zager, 53, Owen, was involved in an accident on February 29 at 7 p.m. on CTH A in the town of Holway. According to the accident report, the Zager vehicle was eastbound on CTH A when the driver fell asleep and the vehicle entered the the ditch, causing minor damage to the front. Failure to keep in designated lane, operating a motor vehicle in an inattentive, careless or erratic manner, and looking away from the task by Zager were listed in the report as factors in the accident. She was issued a citation for unsafe lane deviation.

The following deer-related accident was reported: Paul C. Skibbe, 45, Stanley, on March 1 at 6:04 p.m. on CTH M in the town of Greenwood.
