Area students graduate, receive academic honors

Graduates

The following local residents received degrees from the University of Wisconsin- River Falls following commencement in December. Kendall Skabroud of Gilman, magna cum laude, Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education; Racheal Krug of Medford, Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural education; and Jacob Johnson of Westboro, Master of Business Administration degree.

The following students from the area graduated in December from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie: Mackenzie Webster of Gilman, Bachelor of Science degree in real estate property management; Ryan Tkachuk of Lublin, Bachelor of Science degree in applied science; Tate Hedtke of Medford, Master of Science in Education degree in school psychology; Beth van der Berg of Medford, Master of Science in Education degree in school psychology; and Camren Armbrust of Stetsonville, Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering.

Dakota Nesterick of Gilman received a degree in mechanical engineering and Brandon Rudolph of Medford received a degree in industrial technology management during commencement ceremonies December 14 at the University of Wisconsin- Platteville. Medford students receiving degrees during winter commencement ceremonies on December 14 at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point were Chett Grunwald, cum laude, Associate of Arts and Sciences degree; Katie Kesan, cum laude, Bachelor of Science degree in dietetics; and Brittany Zenner, summa cum laude, Master of Science in Education degree in general education.

Academic achievements

Jessica Nowak, a nursing major from Medford, has been named to the dean’s list for the 2019 fall semester at Upper Iowa University. To be honored, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average for the semester and be enrolled as a full-time student.

Samuel Lindow of Medford has been named to the dean’s list for the fall term at Wichita State University in Wichita, Kan. by earning a grade point average of at least 3.5.

Abby Schultz and Emma Schultz, both of Medford, received highest academic honors for the fall semester at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay with a grade point average (GPA) of 4.0.

Erin Probst of Rib Lake earned high academic honors for the fall semester with a GPA of 3.75 to 3.99.

Desirae Weissmiller of Medford earned academic honors for the fall semester with a GPA of 3.5 to 3.74.

Medford students Bailey Feddick and Nathan Gradberg were named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Michigan Technological University (MTU) in Houghton, Mich. by earning a grade point average of at least 3.5.

Medford students Catherine and Charlie Branstetters were named to the dean’s list at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kan. by earning a grade point average of 3.5 to 3.95.

Matthew Reuter of Medford has been named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at the University of Dubuque in Dubuque, Iowa by earning a grade point average of at least 3.5.
