February nutrition program menu

The Taylor County Nutrition Program for the elderly has announced the February menu for the various sites. Persons 60 years and older and spouse, regardless of age, are invited to participate in the meal. Due to COVID-19, meals are currently available for pick-up only.

In Jump River, meals are served at noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Jump River Community Center, W14751 River St. In Medford, meals are served at noon on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at the Medford Senior Dining Center, 845 E. Broadway (Hwy 64). In Gilman, meals are served at noon Monday through Thursday at the Gilman Senior Center, 385 Main St. Meals are served in Goodrich at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesdays at Royal Gaits Arena & Stables, N3649 Spring Dr. In Stetsonville, meals are served at noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Centennial Community Center, 412 E. Center Ave. Meals are served in Rib Lake at 11:30 a.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Rib Lake Senior Center, 725 S. Front St. In Westboro meals are served at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the VFW Hall, N8835 Business Hwy 13.

Reservations must be made one day in advance by 2 p.m. If you have questions, call the Taylor County Commission on Aging at 715-748-1491.

Week of February 1 — Monday, beef stroganoff, mashed potatoes, broccoli and cauliflower, biscuit, fresh grapes; Tuesday, pulled pork in a bun, scalloped potatoes, coleslaw, honey bee fruit salad; Wednesday, egg salad sandwich with lettuce and tomato slice on whole wheat bread, beef barley soup, peach slices, cookie; Thursday, spaghetti with meat sauce, lettuce salad, garlic breadstick, diced pears, pineapple cake; Friday, garlic parmesan chicken breast, diced seasoned potatoes, whole wheat roll, three-bean salad, sliced pears, rhubarb cake.

Week of February 8 — Monday, chicken and wild rice casserole, garlic green beans, sliced pickled beets, whole wheat bread, apple cake; Tuesday, chef salad of romaine lettuce, tomatoes, turkey, egg and cheese, fresh roll, minestrone soup, crackers, cookie; Wednesday, oven baked rosemary chicken, baked sweet potato, cauliflower, cornbread, mandarin oranges; Thursday, roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, squash, multi-grain bread, angel food cake with raspberries and strawberries; Friday, sloppy Joe in a bun, roasted potatoes, baked beans, grape salad.

Week of February 15 — Monday, honey mustard pork, baked sweet potato, Pacific blend vegetables, raisin bread, cinnamon applesauce; Tuesday, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy, whole kernel corn, whole wheat bread, pumpkin bar; Wednesday, vegetable lasagna, carrots, lettuce salad, garlic breadstick, fruit Jell-O dessert; Thursday, chicken fajitas with red and green bell peppers and onion sauté, tortilla, sour cream, refried beans, Mexican corn, chocolate cherry cake; Friday, lemon pepper fish, baby red potatoes, asparagus, pineapple, multi-grain bread, cookie.

Week of February 22 — Monday, chili with macaroni, cheddar cheese, crackers, lettuce and spinach salad, apple slices, lemon bar; Tuesday, chicken and broccoli casserole, Pacific blend vegetables, whole wheat bread, grape juice, bananas and vanilla pudding; Wednesday, barbecue pork in whole wheat hoagie, scalloped potatoes, coleslaw, diced pears, cookie; Thursday, beef tips with mushrooms, noodles, peas, cinnamon apples, fudgy black bean brownie; Friday, tuna noodle casserole, peas, rye bread, diced fruit mix, beetnik chocolate cake.
