The school reports that, as of Jan. 18, there were 10 active cases at MAES and five cases at MVA. School officials said they contacted the Marathon County Health Department after seeing an increased number of students and staff on quarantine. The school had difficulty finding adequate staff.
The building closure did not affect Marathon High School, which, as of Jan. 18, had zero active cases of COVID-19.
