n March 29 - An officer was notified of a threat complaint that came in from a local business. The officer was notified that a man was in the pharmacy and when he was leaving, he was heard saying that he should go home and get a gun and come back and shoot up the store. The officer was given a picture of the man’s vehicle and license plate. The officer got a phone number for the man and attempted to call him but there was no answer.
The officer then went to the man’s home and was unable to make contact with him. There was no answer. As the officer was leaving the residence, the man returned the officer’s phone call. The man said he was at the business at around 1 p.m. with a friend. The man said he was speaking to his friend as they were walking out of the store but said he did not think he said anything that would be of concern to anyone.
The officer told the man what staff at the business thought he had said. The man said he did not and would not have said that. The man said as he was walking out his friend saw some helium balloons and he said he should buy some and release them and shoot at them for target practice. The man said he could not believe someone thought he would say he would bring a gun to the business.
The man seemed to be very embarrassed that someone would think he would say that. The officer felt that there was no ill intent behind what the man had said. The officer said people are pretty sensitive to anything said in a store, speaking of guns included, and can be misunderstood at times. The man said he understood.
n March 29 - An officer was at the Northside Apartments speaking to the manager of the apartments. The manager said that a family had moved out of an apartment and asked if the officer would do a walk through of the apartment with the maintenance worker for the apartment to be sure no illegal substances were left behind.
The officer went through the apartment and could smell the strong odor of marijuana in the kitchen of the apartment. The officer found a small, plastic baggie with a green leafy substance on top of the water heater in the residence. The officer took the bag back to the police department where its contents tested positive for marijuana.
The officer looked up the family members and one of the members has two open cases in Marathon County and one in Shawano County where he was not allowed to have possession of illegal substances. All three of the cases have felony related charges. The other family member has two open Clark County cases and one open case in Marathon County with the same bond conditions.
The officer made plans to contact all the parties involved and speak to them about the findings in their apartment.
n March 30 - An officer was informed by dispatch to give a woman a phone call in reference to a bail bond violation. The officer made contact with the woman and informed her he would like to meet with her at her residence in reference to the violation. The officer then made contact with the woman who said her ex-boyfriend had attempted to make phone contact with her. She said her ex-boyfriend is not to have contact with her due to getting in trouble in the past. The woman then showed the officer several text messages from the man that were sent to her phone.
The woman also received four missed phone calls from the man that night. She said she did not answer any of the calls or messages. The officer then ran the man’s name through CCAP. The man has several open cases through the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office and one open case through the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. The bond conditions were for the man to not have contact with the woman whether direct or indirect. The officer took photos of the messages and uploaded them to the case.
n March 30 - An officer was dispatched to a residence for a disturbance. The officer arrived and met with a woman who was standing outside and a juvenile who was standing in the doorway. The officer asked the juvenile what was going on. The girl said she came home and the front door was locked and she needed to get inside. The girl said she called her mother to let her in the house. The girl said she got mad and ripped the door bell camera off the house and threw it. The girl said the mother pulled into the drive way. The girl then told her mother to open the door and her mother declined.
The girls said she would break the window to get in and she then broke out a window on the front of the house. The mother then started to record her with her cell phone. The girl said that the mother did not need to record her. The girl said she went to grab the phone out of her mother’s hands but her mother slapped her in the face.
The officer then went to speak to the mother. The mother said she came home and the girl was outside yelling at her. The mother said the girl is supposed to be at her father’s house and not her house. The mother said she took out her phone to record the girl and her attempt to attack her and kill her. The woman had cuts and scrapes on her fingers that appeared to be from the girl trying to grab the cell phone.
The woman said that she did throw out the girl’s boyfriend’s belongings because she does not want him in her house. The officer ran both of the females’ information through the Wisconsin Department of Justice system. The girl had a warrant through Marathon County for failure to appear for operating without a valid license, second offense. The officer contacted Clark County Social Services and explained to an employee what had happened and that there would possibly be charges for the juvenile.
The officer was told that there would not be any hold placed on the girl and the officer was instructed to separate the girl and her mother. The father arrived at the residence and said the girl could come home with him. He said it was his week to have her anyway. The girl said she would not go with her father and wants to stay home since the mother was leaving anyway.
The officer then spoke to both parents and due to the girl’s recent history of running away from her father’s house, the duo agreed to let the girl reside at her mother’s house for the night. The mother said she would not come home and would allow the girl to calm down. The officer forwarded a charge of disorderly conduct to the Clark County Juvenile Court for the girl.

The officer arrived at the school and met with the truck driver and the man he picked up. The officer spoke with the driver who said he had seen the man crawling out of the ditch on a road just outside of Colby. The driver helped the man out of the ditch and offered to give him a ride home. The man gave the driver a few incorrect address’ before the truck driver called for law enforcement to respond.
The officer asked the man what was going on. The man said he was walking after his brother to bring him back to his house when he fell in the ditch. The officer asked the man where he lived and after a few seconds of thinking, he gave the officer a Colby address. The truck driver stated that was incorrect as he already took him there. The officer ran the man’s information through the CAPD system and found a different address.
The officer noticed the man was wearing pajama pants, a sweatshirt and was visibly wet. The officer asked the man if he would like a ride home and the man said yes. The officer drove the man home. Before allowing the man inside, the officer met with the resident of the home to ensure it was the man’s confirmed address. The officer met with a woman who said she was the man’s wife and said that her daughter was out looking for the man.
The woman said the man has dementia and said she usually wakes up when he gets up in the night but that night, she must have slept through it. The woman said the man would not have actually been looking for his brother as the man’s brother does not live in the area. The officer then released the man to his family.
