Ida Zimmerman

Ida Burkholder Zimmerman, age 54 years, 10 months, 1 day, of Colby, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026, at her home.

A service was held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026 at Colby Mennonite Church (W2282 Eddy Road, Colby, WI) with Nelson Newswanger, Roy Sauder and Martin Zimmerman presiding. Daniel Nolt, Nathan Nolt, Luke Nolt, James Hoover, Marvin Hoover and Lamar Hoover served as pallbearers.

Visitation was from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 28, 2026 at her residence (W1719 Colby Factory Road) in rural Colby. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Colby was entrusted with the arrangements.

Ida was born on November 22, 1971, the daughter of Luke and Alma (Burkholder) Nolt in Ephrata, Pa. She was united in marriage to Ion Zimmerman on May 18,1995 in Ephrata, Pa. Ida and Ion farmed in the Town of Colby and she is the mother of 10 children. She was a member of the Old Order Mennonite Church.

Ida is survived by her husband of 31 years, Ion; ten children: Anita (Leon) Zimmerman of Greenwood, Lawrence (Berniece) Zimmerman of Greenwood, Jonathan (Mary) Zimmerman of Curtiss, Wilma (David) Nolt of Curtiss, Joshua, Leon, Mervin, Samuel, Vernon and Kevin Zimmerman all of Colby; eight grandchildren: Ruth Elaine Zimmerman, Lydia Ann Zimmerman, Leon Ray Zimmerman, John Mark Zimmerman, Mary Alice Zimmerman, all of Greenwood and Caleb Zimmerman, Rosetta Nolt and Carolyn Nolt, all of Curtiss. She is further survived by her father, Luke Nolt of Ephrata, Pa.; nine brothers and sisters: Nathan (Lucy) Nolt of New Holland, Pa., Benjamin (Martha) Nolt of Colby, Norman (Mary) Nolt of Hopkinsville, Ken., Anna Mae (John) Hoover of Colby, Esther (Titus) Sauder of Ephrata, Pa., Rebecca (Lawrence) Zimmerman of Owen, Samuel Nolt, Lydia Ann Nolt and Ellen Nolt, all of Ephrata, Pa.; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Alma Burkholder Nolt.
