Gregory Blume
Gregory “Tiger” Allen Blume, age 72, of Abbotsford, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2026. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home is entrusted with assisting the family.
Greg was born November 1, 1953, in Medford, to Leander and Lulumae (Baumgartner) Blume. He attended Medford High School and spent his life working hard, making friends, helping others and finding plenty of mischief along the way.
If you knew Greg, you knew his smile. He smiled with his whole face, and years of laughter could be seen in the wrinkles around his eyes. Greg had a great sense of humor, an outgoing personality, and a way of making people feel welcome. He was often the life of the party and could turn an ordinary moment into a memory people would laugh about for years.
Greg had a huge heart and was always willing to help someone. He gave his time and energy freely and never expected anything in return. He simply believed in helping people, and that kindness was one of the many things that made him special.
He wasn’t very good at sitting still. Greg was always on the go, whether he was working, riding his motorcycle, camping or finding something to keep himself busy. He proudly drove school bus for Parkside Bus for 18 years, a job he truly enjoyed. He also spent 27 years at Weather Shield Windows & Doors before working at Marathon Cheese.
Greg’s lifelong passion for motorcycles took him to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and, for 30 years, to the Tomahawk Fall Ride. He was a devoted member of the Free Spirit Motorcycle Club until its final days. He treasured the friendships and memories he made. Greg loved music, singing, dancing and having a good time. He especially loved Elvis Presley and could sing his favorite songs by heart. He also looked forward to weekends with his Coffee Clutch, where there was never a shortage of stories, laughter and probably a little trouble. Above all, Greg loved his family. His children and grandchildren were his greatest joy, and he cherished the time he spent with them. His fun-loving spirit, generosity, humor and infectious smile will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Greg is survived by his mother, Lulumae; his life partner of 29 years, Juleen Brecke; seven children: Allen Blume (Jan Raasch), Amanda (Brian) Pupp, Andrea (Michael) Gray, Dustin (Leslie) Blume, Dennis Patterson Jr. (Miranda), Aileena Patterson (Brad) and Myron Patterson (Laura); 23 grandchildren; 12 greatgrandchildren, and five siblings: Faye Neubaur (Jeff), Jeffery (Loretta) Blume, Diana (Jim) Yaron, Scott Blume and Lisa Blume.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leander Blume.
A celebration of Greg’s life will be held on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026, at the Dorchester Memorial Hall from noon until 4 p.m. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
