Brenda Mulderink

Brenda Joy Mulderink, age 72, of Dorchester, passed away September 3, 2026, at home surrounded by her family.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, Sept. 11, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester. Interment to follow at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Father Keith Kitzhaber will preside. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

She was born November 21, 1953, to Harry and Ruby (Echkoff) Erichson in Beecher, 111. She graduated from Beecher High School in 1971. She met her high school sweetheart, Raymond Mulderink, and they were united in marriage on February 24,1973.

In 1997, they moved from Illinois to Dorchester. Brenda was a true partner in the farming life, never afraid to work hard and able to operate any piece of farm machinery alongside Raymond.

Her passion was her family, always attending all of the kids and grandkids events and activities. She was a part of the Church Basement Quilters, helping to make over 200 quilts for charity. She taught CCD for 20 years, took part in 4-H, classroom parties, field trips, and spent numerous nights helping with homework, earning her the title as the Flashcard Queen.

Brenda loved flowers, gardening and canning. She loved scrapbooking, crafting and looked forward to her annual crafting trip with the family girls. She especially loved her annual cookie bake with all the grandkids and great-grandson.

She will be dearly missed by her husband of 53 years; Raymond; four children: Tammy (Michael) Hornback, Keith Mulderink, Steven (Amber) Mulderink and Stephanie (Jesse) Kotecki; 14 grandchildren: Cassy, Ricky (Billie), Logan, Hallie, Melissa, Dakota, Ariel, Audreigh, Ryan, Reece, Ashley, Amy, Anthony and Wyatt. She is further survived by her great-grandson, Harrison, and one sister, Rosemary (George) Gosinski.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Ruby Erichson, in-laws, Raymond and Betty Mulderink, and one granddaughter, Rachel Mulderink.

The Maurina Schilling Funeral Home is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
