Jeanette Switlick, 93, Athens, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026.

She was born January 29,1933, in Athens. On May 26, 1951, she married Stanley Switlick at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. He preceded her in death on March 31,1996.

Jeanette was a proud homemaker and truly enjoyed raising her children and grandchildren and anyone who came through her door. Some of her favorite pastimes included embroidery, making quilts, playing cards, cooking, shopping, gardening and enjoying the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jeanette made baby quilts for all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She also enjoyed blueberry picking, visiting with people and living life to the fullest.

Survivors include her children: Mike (Kathy) Switlick, Lorraine (Donald) Sobjeck, Mark Switlick, Daniel (Laura) Switlick, Leanne (Victor) Smith, Francis (Jennifer) Switlick and Lori Switlick; her grandchildren: Kristine (Jose Argueta Granados) Switlick, Josh (Korina) Switlick, Justin (Tania) Switlick, Jeremy (Jessica) Switlick, Erin Sobjeck, Kyle Sobjeck, Kimberly (Joe) Ellis, Matt Switlick, Tiffany (Andrew) Lukasko, Melanie (Jordan) Locher, Jonathon Patton, Cassandra (AJ) Switlick, Nadine (Casey) Aho, Ryan (Samantha) Switlick, Russell (Amanda) Switlick and Megan Switlick, her great grandchildren, Blake, Brock, Luke, Jake, Landon, Eli, Everly, Oliver, Lyla, Madden, Finnley, Ashlyn, Emma, Holden, Elsie and soon Baby Girl Locher and her special cousin, Mabel Drewek.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sons: Richard, Florian and Jerome “Mego” Switlick; her grandchildren: Keith Boehm, Amanda Boehm and Jennifer Patton and a greatgranddaughter, Adrian Handrick.

The funeral Mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. The Rev. George Graham presided. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Athens. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens, is in charge of arrangements.
