Susan Grosskreutz Susan Grosskreutz

Susan M. Grosskreutz, Hudson, formerly of Edgar, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 29, 2026, while under the care of Lakeview Hospice at Christian Community Home, Hudson.

She was born on October 13,1941, in Milwaukee, daughter of the late Raymond and Sophie (Pawluczak) Marzynski. On March 28, 1978, she married Otto “Hunce” Grosskreutz. He preceded her in death on March 7, 2016.

Susan’s career in elementary education spanned nearly 35 years, with the majority of her time spent at the Edgar School District, where she taught third grade. Her teaching extended beyond the classroom, as she continued to impart her knowledge at the care center where she dedicated her final three years. A passionate gardener, Susan indulged in canning all the fruits and vegetables she grew. Her deep-rooted connection to farming was evident when she purchased a farm and managed ginseng fields, a venture that predated the widespread recognition of such pursuits.

Susan’s hobby of Polish paper cutting, known as “Wycinanki,” left an indelible mark on many lives, adorning every graduation, Christmas and birthday card with her exquisite creations. Her cooking skills were exceptional. She used instinct and observation instead of measuring instruments, memorizing the recipes by taste and appearance. She had great pride and interest in her Polish heritage, leading her to researching and publication, sharing this history with everyone she believed should know. Family meant the world to her and enjoyed every opportunity to gather.

Survivors include her sister, Jessica Delwiche, River Falls; nieces: Amy Klein (Kevin), Sara Marzynski and Hayden Marzynski (Bernice Hernandez), and nephews: Luke Delwiche (Katie), Nick Delwiche (Stacy) and Daniel Marzynski (Brenda).

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Mark and John and a brother-in-law, Jerome Delwiche.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2026, at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. The Rev. Alan Wierzba will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service, all at the church.
