Cheryl Broeske Cheryl Broeske

Cheryl Ann Broeske, of Colby, entered eternal rest on her 62nd birthday, April 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family and under the tender care of Heartland Hospice—a day that beautifully symbolizes both the beginning and completion of a life filled with love, laughter and lasting impact.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Faith Fellowship in Marshfield. Pastor Nate Smith will preside. Family and friends are welcome to greet the family from 11 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the church. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Colby is entrusted with arrangements.

Cheryl was born on April 14, 1964, to William and Lena (Weigel) Sterzinger in Marshfield. She graduated from Colby High School in 1982. On October 11, 1985, she was united in marriage to James Broeske at Saint Mary Help of Christian Parish in Colby. From this marriage they welcomed three children: Kimberly, Tyler and Ashley. Her dedication to her family was her highest priority and devotion.

Cheryl was a devoted member of the Faith Fellowship Church in Marshfield. Her faith was her inspiration and brought her peace to manage through all things she came upon. She was a community living specialist for Lutheran Services, taking care of handicapped adults. She pursued a retail career working for Family Dollar and enjoyed visiting with everyone who entered. In 2010, she became a certified massage therapist. She took pride in helping others feel better and willingly transported anyone who needed a ride to get groceries or go to an appointment. She loved music, singing and attending concerts. Her connection to her friends was inseparable and her contagious laugh was like no other.

Cheryl is survived by her husband of 39 years, Jim; three children: Kimberly Broeske of Colby, Tyler Broeske of Black River Falls and Ashley (Travis) Krug of Green Bay; four brothers: Pete Sterzinger of Chippewa Falls, Greg (Cheryl) Sterzinger of Colby, Bill (Renee) Sterzinger of Colby and Gary (Jan) Sterzinger of Marshfield; four sisters: Judy (Bob) Staszak of Wausau, Rose Johnson of Marshfield, Janet (Jack) Apfel of Marshfield and Pat Herman of Marshfield. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
