Nancy Fasbender

Nancy Fasbender passed away peacefully, Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026.

Nancy was born Aug. 21, 1936, to Lawrence F. and Rachel Olmstead.

She was raised in Cornell, and graduated high school in 1954.

After graduating from high school, she moved to Minneapolis, Minn., and worked as a keypunch operator for Northwest Bank.

She married Howard Fasbender, June 22, 1957, in Cornell. They resided on the Fasbender farm, in the Town of Cleveland.

In addition to raising a family and working the family farm with her husband, Nancy had numerous hobbies. Family, friends, neighbors and the community, received kindness and love, through her gifts of time, quilts, hats/ mittens, and products from her gardens and kitchen.

Nancy was much loved and respected, and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her children – Eileen (Steve) Scott, Tony (Michelle), Ron (Patty), Dan and Mike (Trisha) Fasbender; siblings – Juanita (Phil Harvatine) Patten, Fred Olmstead, Diane (Don) Oliver, Linda Skistad and Kathy (Mark) Hauser; sisters-in-law – Lois Clifton and Patricia Olmstead; grandchildren – Samantha, Stuart, Nick, Kasey, Kelly, Alex, Noah, Ellie, Elisa, Nathanial, Robert, Allison and Cortney; 22 great-grandchildren; and several nieces; nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son – William “Bill”; brothers – Larry and Bob Olmstead; half-brother – Dale Anthony; and granddaughter – Roseanna “Rosie” Holt.

Visitation is Friday, Feb. 27, from 4-7 p.m., at Borton-Leiser Funeral Home in Cornell. Rosary and visitation is Saturday, Feb. 28, at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial, at 10:30 a.m., at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cornell.

A light luncheon is served in the church hall, at the conclusion of Mass. Private internment at the Cornell Cemetery, is at a later date.
