Carol Jean (Foiles) Nye, 89, Cadott, passed away, Thursday, Nov. 27, 2025, with family at her side.

Carol Jean reunited with her husband, William “Bill” Nye, for his birthday, in Heaven.

Carol Jean was born to beloved Frank and Mary (Petshow) Foiles, Nov. 25, 1936.

She graduated from Cadott High School in 1955.

Carol married the love of her life, William “Bill” Nye, Aug. 3, 1957.

She spent several years, as the Cadott telephone operator. Carol became a preschool teacher in 1997, at Kangaroo Korner, for 13.5 years; she helped care for so many children.

Carol was a member of St John’s Lutheran Church.

She enjoyed scrapbooking, sewing, taking pictures, playing cards, trips to the casino, but most of all, being with her family and all her grandchildren. Grandma’s house, a.k.a. “The Country,” hosted all potlucks, parties, campfires, soup over the fire, bocce ball and volleyball. The memories of her and time at “The Country,” will forever be cherished by many.

Her biggest and most proud achievement, was how big the family grew, with seven children; 22 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Her memory lives on in her children – Jean (Bob) Eichner, Pam Simmons, Randy Nye, Wanda (Kevin) Faber, Keith (Lori) Nye, Paula (Dan) Johnson and Rod Nye; and many grandchildren; other extended family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother – Wallace; sister-in-law – Helen Foiles; her mother and father-in-law; son-in-law – Tom Simmons; and other dear friends and family, but most importantly, her love – William “Bill” Nye.

The family would like to thank St. Croix Hospice and especially American Lutheran Homes, for the compassionate care you provided to our mom and grandma in her final days. Your patience, kindness and support, brought comfort to her and peace to our family. We will always be grateful for the warmth you showed during such a tender time.

Visitation was from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 2, at Leiser Funeral Home in Cadott, and also one hour prior to the services, Wednesday morning, Dec. 3, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cadott.
