Penny K. Tirrel

Penny K. Tirrel, 64, Cornell, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022, in Cornell.

Penny was born Oct. 16, 1957, to Charles and Lilly Knez.

She married David Tirrel Dec. 26, 1980, and together, raised two children on a small dairy farm west of Cornell.

Penny was a devoted mother and grandmother, who was happiest when surrounded by her family. She was very kind and generous, and her laughter brought joy to those who knew and loved her. She also loved her dog, Buster, a great deal.

She is survived by her son – Jason Tirrel; grandchildren – Cory, Jocelyn, Abby and Ollie; brothers and sisters – Kris Knez, Ray Knez, Chuck Knez and Wanda Langel; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents – Charles and Lilly Knez; her husband – David Tirrel; her son – Jacq Tirrel; a brother – Denny Knez; and a sister – Kathy Yousse.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 22, from 5-7 p.m., at Borton-Leiser Funeral Home in Cornell.
