Thomas Robert Reuss, 85, Cornell/Holcombe, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Marshfield Medical Center- Eau Claire, with his daughter, Tiffany, by his side.

Thomas was born July 27, 1936, in Chicago, Ill., to Mildred (Klasnja) and Wilbert Reuss. They moved to Leona, in 1941, when he was five years old, then in 1956, moved to Cornell, when he was 15 years old.

He owned and operated Reuss’s Greenhouse, for over 20 years. He had a love for plants and had a green thumb. Thomas was locally known for his beautiful flowers.

He loved stopping at every garage sale, he always said, “Another man’s junk is another man’s treasure!” Thomas loved attending the car show in Chippewa Falls, with his son, Robert.

Thomas was part of the Lake Holcombe Lions Club for many years, he enjoyed taking the fire truck the Lions club had to local parades; Robert and Tiffany would always join him, and throw out candy.

In his younger years, he enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, hunting and fishing. He loved dressing up and playing Santa Claus. The last few years, he enjoyed playing cards and putting puzzles together with his companion. During football season on Sundays, you would find him in front of the television, watching the Packers – he absolutely loved the Packers.

He is survived by his six children – Robert (Katie) Reuss, Ladysmith, Tiffany (Charles) Prince, Chippewa Falls, Michael Reuss, Bloomer, Martin Reuss, Rapid City, S.D., Mitchel Reuss, Denver, Colo., and Michele (Jared) Nicolaus, Rapid City, S.D.; grandchildren – Vincent Reuss, Damien Reuss, Taylon Reuss, Skilar Brummond, Laurie Carter Wetter, Stacey Breckenridge, Cassandra Reuss, Kayla Brown, Jorgia Nicolaus, Tate Nicolaus, Maddie Nicolaus and Kort Nicolaus; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; his sisters – Joan (Kenny) Houle, Wabeno, Jean Reuss, Cornell; brother – James (Rita) Reuss, Bellevue, Iowa; and his sister Jean Reuss of Cornell; and his companion – Carolean Craker.

He was preceded in death by his parents – Mildred and Wilbert Reuss; brother – George Reuss; and a daughter in infancy – Lori Reuss.

A celebration of life will be held from 2-4 p.m., Saturday, April 23, at Borton-Leiser Funeral Home in Cornell. A private family inurnment will be in the Cornell Cemetery.
