Richard Carroll, 76, Oconto Falls, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, at home.

Richard was born Jan. 12, 1945, in Cornell, to Russell and Bertha (Bostedt) Carroll.

He grew up in Cornell, where he graduated high school and went on to attend college. He entered the U.S. Navy, where he served for four years, and following his honorable discharge, attended UW-Stevens Point, graduating with a degree in elementary education.

Richard married Bonnie Carroll in Greenville, July 8, 1972. The couple moved with their young family to Oconto Falls, in 1976, where Richard was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier, until his retirement. He was a member of American Legion Post 302 in Oconto Falls.

He is survived by his two children – Jonathon (Dana) Car- roll, Lena, and Jennifer (John) Ruprecht, Green Bay; five grandchildren – Colt, Korbin and Maiyah Carroll, Benjamin and Blake Ruprecht; two brothers – Ray (Shirley) and Jerry (Sue) Carroll; one sister – Sandy (Ray) Brenner; and one sister-in-law – Carol Carroll.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers – Roger and Bill Carroll.

Visitation, with the urn present, will take place after 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 8, at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls, until the time of service. Services will be held at noon, Friday, at the funeral home, with Pastor Gary Olson officiating.

Burial with military honors will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Oconto Falls.
