Sharon Scearce
Sharon Ruth (Diller) Scearce, age 82, formerly of Loyal, died Tuesday March 10, 2026, at the home of her daughter near Stanley, after a period of declining health with congestive heart failure.
She was born March 22, 1943, in Elida, Ohio, the daughter of Ralph and Esther (Good) Diller. On Oct. 19, 1963, she married Keith Scearce in Johnsville, Ohio, and they made their home in Wisconsin. They shared 55 years of marriage until his death in November 2018. She was a member of the Owen Mennonite Church, Owen.
She is survived by eight children: Ethan and Joanna (Landis) Scearce, Mount Pleasant Mills, Penn.; Aaron and Rebekah (Amstutz) Scearce, Gleason; Faith and Noah Hursh, Stanley; Philip and Joanne (Smith) Scearce, Conrath; Jason and Mildred (Hoover) Scearce, Sunbury, Penn.; Lydia and Jason Zimmerman, Flat Rock, Ind.; Esther and David Hursh, Loyal; and Peter and Deborah (Martin) Scearce, Belle Rive, Ill. She is also survived by 61 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Cleora and Eugene Campbell, Flat Gap, Ky.; and nieces and nephews.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a granddaughter, Jalena Hursh; a grandson, Harold Scearce; a great-grandson, JaRon Scearce; and two sisters, Carolyn and Jake Hofer; and Darlene and Eli Mast.
A viewing was held Monday, March 16, 2026, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., with the funeral on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 10 a.m., all at the Owen Mennonite Church. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
