Eva was born to Adam and Cruz (Lopez) Corral on Feb. 2, 1936 in Los Angeles, Calif. She graduated from Garfield High School in 1954, where she was proud to have marched in the Rose Bowl Parade. She married Lester Fliehs on April 24, 1955 in Mexico. Together they had 4 children and moved to Interwald in 1967.
Eva took to life in Wisconsin quickly. While she shared many Mexican dishes such as calabacita soup and tamales, she also learned to cook German dumplings and venison. She liked going fishing with Lester, playing dartball, attending baseball games, and taking an occasional ride to the casino. Eva supported Wisconsin sports and never missed a Packers or Brewers game. She also enjoyed traveling, including making many trips back to LA to see family. Eva loved spending time and visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. No one ever left her house without a few treats and a goofy wave goodbye.
Eva worked for a phone company in Los Angeles, a shoe factory in Merrill, the Rib Lake Middle School as a secretary, Frombach’s Little Store, and as a bartender at Chet and Bernie’s. She also worked at local elections, helped with personal taxes, and interpreted for those in need as she was fluent in Spanish. Eva was a proud member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and was very strong in her faith.
Eva is survived by her children, Lorraine (Greg) Brahmer, of Rib Lake, Dan (Mary) Fliehs, of Rib Lake, Steve (Luanne) Fliehs, of Medford and Shelly (Scott) Thums, of Rib Lake; 13 grandchildren; 22 (soon to be 23) great-grandchildren; and one great-greatgrandchild. She is further survived by sisters-in-law Sylvia Blumenstein, Diane Rorabaugh, and Delores Scheithauer as well as many other extended family members and friends.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents; husband; six brothers; and one sister.
