Elizabeth Heindl
Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Heindl, age 78, of Dorchester, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, under the tender care of St. Croix Hospice at the Abbotsford Health Care Center.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester. Interment to follow at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Father Keith Kitzhaber will preside. Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, Feb. 27, 2026, at the Maurina Schilling Funeral home in Abbotsford for visitation from 4 p.m. -7 p.m. with an American Legion and VFW Women’s Auxiliary service followed by a rosary service starting at 6 p.m. Visitation will also be from 10:30 a.m. until time of service Saturday at St Louis Catholic Church. The honor of pallbearers belongs to Betty’s grandsons: Patrick Jr., Matthew, Nathan, Joseph, Jacob and Jonathon.
Betty was born on September 7, 1947, the daughter of Arnold and Rose (Trafton) Weber in Medford. She was united in marriage to Wilfred B Heindl on October 21,1967, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Milan. Together they farmed in the Town of Mayville for many years. Betty also was a cook for the local elementary schools and several local restaurants. Wilfred preceded her in death on May 27, 2007.
Betty enjoyed cooking and canning, bowling, gardening, crocheting, scrapbooking, crafting and singing at church. She also enjoyed driving people around and making new friends. Betty enjoyed trips with her husband to various states and countries. She was a good friend and neighbor who will be sadly missed. Betty especially loved and cherished all her family and friends. Betty was an active member of Catholic Order of Foresters, St. Louis Catholic Church and its PCCW organization as well as auxiliary member for the Dorchester American Legion Post 517 and the Colby VFW Post #2227.
Betty is survived by her four children: Margaret (Patrick Sr.) Mateer of Abbotsford, Norbert (Marcia) Heindl of Richardson, Texas, Joanne (James) Juedes of Ringle and Thomas Heindl of Withee; 10 grandchildren: Kristin (Steve) Gasparin, Patrick (Becky) Mateer, Jr., Matthew Mateer (Brooke Staab), Veronica Mateer, Hannah, Nathan and Emma Heindl, Joseph Juedes (Claudia Korpita), Jacob (Maddie) Juedes and Jonathon Juedes; nine plus great-grandchildren; two sisters: Margaret (Rick) Ashley of Texas and Cathi Sinclair of Oregon; one brother, Charles (Barbara) Weber of Germany; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers: Ronald and Randall Weber; a brother-in-law, Steven Sinclair and two nephews.
