Sharon M. Baker


1949-2025
Sharon M. Baker, 76, formerly of Gilman, died peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, Sept. 29, 2025 under the care of St. Croix Hospice.
She was born in Lublin on June 16, 1949 to the late Joseph and Stella (Pedro) Pancyrz. Sharon grew up near there and attended Lublin schools. She graduated from Gilman High School in 1967.
She married Robert Baker on June 24, 1967. The couple farmed south of Gilman and Sharon was the Town of Ford clerk for 36 years.
Sharon enjoyed farming and working with her husband, kids, nephews, nieces, cousins and grandkids that would come over in the summer to help. Sharon also enjoyed cooking for family and friends especially making her pierogies and also enjoyed playing cribbage and visiting with family, friends and her large extended family that she was known as Mom Baker to many.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Bob; her children, Joanne Mast, of Dorchester, Don (Susan) Baker, of Mazeppa, Minn., Ken (Cheryl) Baker, of Chippewa Falls and Kristine Baker of Moore, Okla.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and her brothers, Ray (Peggy) Pancyrz, of Fall Creek, Terry (Jonie) Pancyrz, of Genoa City, and Richard Pancyrz, of Thorp. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; her granddaughter, Meghan Kaiser; her sister, Patricia Penkal; and her brother, Tom Pancyrz.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25 at the Celebration Hall 235 East Main Gilman, from noon until 4 p.m. Come and share a story or memories of Sharon there will be a light meal with refreshments provided. After 4 p.m. we will head to Meadowbrook Cemetery to place her ashes and a short ceremony.
