Lonnie J. Streckert

1955-2025
Lonnie J. Streckert, age 70, of Middleton, passed away peacefully on Monday, Sept. 22, at Alden Meadow Park, Clinton. He was born April 9, 1955, in Emmett, Idaho, to William and Elizabeth (Hulin) Streckert. He had one sister, Flora May Streckert. He lost his whole family in an auto accident at the age of ten, on Aug. 21, 1965, after which time he made his home with his uncle and aunt, Ernest and Silvia Streckert of Medford.
After graduating from Medford High School, he operated Kelframe Mfg., a frame-making business. Moving on to greener pastures, he entered the world of finance and pursued that field of endeavor in Australia, Italy, and Chicago. He was married a short time to Barbara Venn of Australia. He retired to Middleton, where he kept company with his dear friend, Marianne Lah of Madison. He lived in Middleton with his beloved cat, Jasmine, until a major health event required him to take up residence at Alden Meadow Park, Clinton. While there, he endeared himself to his caregivers with his colorful personality and was treated like family.
In retirement, Lonnie was particularly interested in sports, playing cards with his friends, and keeping up on the news. He was a big Wisconsin Badgers fan.
He is survived by his aunt, Dorothy Brown, of Lewiston, Idaho; and a cousin, Nancy Brown (Scott) Greene, of Peck, Idaho. Wisconsin cousins include, David Streckert, Raymond (Frances Smith) Streckert, Robert (Cheryl) Streckert, Kerry (Sue) Wilson, and Tom (Sondra) Streckert; plus Jerrold Streckert of Redding, Mass.; and his friend, Marianne Lah, of Madison; and other more distant cousins.
Lonnie’s ashes will be interred in Council, Idaho, where his parents and sister are buried. He requested that there be no formal services.
