Lois Elaine Chilson, 90, Marshfield, passed away Aug. 21, 2025, at Serenity Living.

A celebration of life will be held at 5 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home (1010 E. Veterans Pkwy., Marshfield). Visitation will take place from 3 p.m. until the time of the service.

Lois was born Nov. 6, 1934, the daughter of Clayton and Gladys (Stroud) Schultz in Adams County. She attended schools in Belvedere, Ill., Phoenix, Ariz., and graduated in 1954 from Harvard Community High School in Harvard, Ill.

Lois was united in marriage to Ronald Chilson in October of 1955 in Mauston. They resided in Chicago until Ron was drafted into the military. She spent two years in Germany with Ron. After his discharge they resided in Belvedere, Ill., where she worked in various factory jobs. They were later divorced.

In 1971, she married Bill Bristol and had a son, Stacey. They later divorced. She was later married to Rueben Jozwiak; the marriage ended in divorce.

Lois moved to Greenwood and later to Neillsville, where she worked as a bookkeeper for the child support division of Clark County. She also worked as a clerk of court and retired from there in the early 2000s.

After retirement, she moved to Marshfield and worked for several years as a volunteer at the Marshfield Medical Center. She enjoyed crocheting, playing dominoes and cards with the ladies, and was a Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers fan.

Lois enjoyed spending time with family and was an active member of Zion United Methodist Church. She enjoyed creating floral arrangements for the different seasons for the church.

Lois is survived by her son, Stacey (Joy) of Stratford; brother, Duane; and sisters, Wilma (Earl) Tennant of Huntsville, Texas, Sandi (Coyle) of Wisconsin Rapids, and Diane Schultze of Greenwood; and sisters-in-law, Doris Schultz and Sandra Stulo. She is further survived by numerous other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Gladys; her brothers, Gordon, Larry, and Clayton Jr.; a sister, Violet; a brother-in-law, Duane Schultze; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Schultz.
