Rosemary Toelle-Otters

Rosemary “Rosie” Toelle-Otters died peacefully on May 14, 2025. Rosie was born in Chicago, 111., on March 28,1935, daughter of Helen and Max Fischer.
As a teenager, she spent summers in the Abbotsford area and eventually decided to move there from the big city in her late teens. It was there that she met the first love of her life, Dale Toelle. They were married on January 22, 1956, until Dad’s death on June 18, 1996. She and Dale ran a business together during their years in the Abby-Colby area, until moving to Neillsville in 1976. In Neillsville, as well as in Colby, they had a lot of friends and many social activities. They enjoyed traveling, camping and just spending time together and with their family. She and Dad also raised five children, and she was the epitome of an amazing mother, a wonderful cook and an excellent baker.
Several years after our Dad passed away, our Mom met another love, Frederick Otters. They were companions for several years until marrying on October 2,2007. Fred passed away on September 18, 2020. They enjoyed life together traveling, trips to the casino, family time and just being together.
In 2020 Mom moved to Terrace Heights in Mauston, to be closer to her son Mark, who provided daily visits and help with everything she needed. She made new friends and had a special friend, Jim Henry, and they enjoyed daily group chats, and just spending time together. Jim survives.
Mom is survived by her children: Sheryl (John) Castillo, Brian Toelle and Mark (Christy) Toelle; daughters-in-law: Kris Toelle and Susan (Rich) Schwartz Price; her step-children: Tim (Erin) Otters, Terry (Ken) Karsten, Christopher (Carolyn) Otters and Randolph (Kelly) Otters.
Mom loved being a grandma and greatgrandma. Everyone called her “Grandma Rosie”, which she loved. Her many grandchildren, greatgrandchildren and step-grandchildren survive: Kyle (Mae) Judd, Scott (Lisa) Judd, Abbie Vance, Ezra (Brita) Toelle, Caleb (Ashley) Toelle, Rachael Toelle, Zachary Toelle, Adam (Meg) Lee, Marcus (Jenna Liebe) Toelle, Mason Toelle, Marshal (Marissa) Toelle, Isabel Toelle, Tina Liotta, Melissa (Willie) Castillo, Tiffany (Chad) Castillo-Gifford, Alicia (Nick) Wyss, Morgan (Trever) Reichhoff, Jordan (Luke Fleming) McGuire, Megan Otters, David (Heidi) Otters, Heather (Lydell) Otters-Brown, Kayla (Jeremy) Otters, Erin (Jeremy) Propson, Amber (Gary) Dahlke and Rudy (Heather) Otters; great-grandchildren: Bear and Lincoln Judd, Joelle and Porter Judd, Noa Toelle, Brogan, Kendall and Madelyn Toelle, Oliver Lee, Lucie, Lilley and Brantley Wyss, Kyler Kamden and Kooper Reichhoff, Oliver Fleming, Jaxon and Violet Brown, Ella and Maverick Otters, Bennet and Rylan Propson.
