Jack Wissell


Jack M. Wissell, age 69, of Greenwood, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield. A celebration of Jack’s life will be held at Cuddie Funeral Home in Greenwood on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a time of sharing at 12:30 p.m.
Jack Michael Wissell was born on April 23, 1956, in Woodstock, Ill., the son of Charles E. and Grace E. (Bottlemy) Wissell. He was raised and received his education in the Loyal area, graduating from Loyal High School in 1974. Jack was married to Christine Pogodzinski in June of 1986, and they later divorced. Jack held various jobs throughout his life, including farm help, the Distribution Center in Spencer, hauling canned milk, inseminating cattle with Select Sires, his pride accomplishment of starting and running JW Driving Academy, and when he retired, he drove school bus for the Greenwood Bus Service.
He had many interests, but especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending as much time as possible with his sons and family. He was known for his quick sense of humor and kind heart. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jack is survived by his sons: Jacob (Karissa) Wissell, Tanner (Trasi) Wissell and Lucas (Allison) Wissell; six grandchildren: Clara Wissell, Sydney Wissell, Colt Wissell, Sadie Wissell, Bellamy Wissell and Lane Wissell; his significant other, Tammy Herrick; seven siblings: Peggy (Dennis) Beaver, Timothy Wissell, Kay (Patrick)
Weaver, LA(Kevin) Burnett, Mary (Gary) Rindfleisch, Janice Wissell, and Bill (Debbie)
Wissell; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
