June was born June 5, 1943 in Curtiss, to Robert and Cecil (Bogue) Hodd. She grew up in the Curtiss, Abbotsford and Colby areas primarily. She spent a lot of her time with family at the Abby Theater (Abbotsford) and later the 13-29 Drive-In Theater (Colby) along with the Hodd family cottage at Lake Mead.

Following high school, she graduated with a degree as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.

On June 20, 1964 she married Gerald T. Johnson of Medford, WI. They resided in Medford where June worked at the Medford Hospital as a Laboratory Technician for over 40 years.

June was a lover of family, animals, science, and history. Her passion, other than her family and grandchildren, was discovering the ancestry of our families. She was also a devoted Girl Scout Leader (for over 30 years), a Cancer survivor., and later, she led a Cancer Support Group. She also had a love for scrapbooking and videography creating many memory books and videos for her children, grandchildren, and future generations to enjoy.

Much of her married life was spent on the hobby farm outside of Medford where the love of animals grew from dogs, to pheasants, to horses and in her later year’s tropical fish. She enjoyed spending time with her family at their cabin on Lake Esadore. Her children and grandchildren have many fond memories of the swimming, fishing, canoeing, and horse-back riding adventures she took them on. Her love for animals and nature lives on in her children and grandchildren.

Towards their retirement years, she and Gerald purchased a small lake home in Lake Como, Fla. Her parents Robert and Cecil enjoyed visiting them there and helped on many property improvements. Whether at their Lake Como property in Florida, at their home or cabin in Wisconsin, she loved to watch the wildlife and marveled at the flowers and nature around her.

She was a devoted Mother and Wife and will be dearly missed by her children, Darla (Mark) Weber of Medford, Wayne (Laura) Johnson of Harshaw, Laura (Daniel) Lang of Venice, Fla.; siblings, Carol Pinno (Hodd) of Bear Creek, Janet Kieffer (Hodd) of Loyal, David Hodd of Spooner; grandchildren, Sadie Keesy, Nicole (Tom) Thorson, Cody Lang; step-grandchildren, Ian (Kellie) Weber, Nathan (Mikaela) Weber, Nathan (Melanie) Myhre, Derek Procknow; great-grandchildren, Ailey and Amara Wulf, Brooklyn Thorson; step-great-grandchildren, Pacey, Silas, Kennedy, Emerson, and Stella Weber, Brooks Myhre; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
